Power Server ID certificates can secure up to 4 server names that share the same second level domain name. When ordering your PowerServerID certificate you have the option to provide 3 alternative server names to be included in the certificate. The certificate we issue to you will contain these server names, along with the server name listed in the common name of the CSR you submitted, in the Subject Alternative Name fields.

For example, if you need to secure the following server names:

• www.yourdomain.com
• autodiscover.yourdomain.com
• mail.secure.yourdomain.com
• secure.download.customer1.yourdomain.com

and all of these server names are hosted on the same server, you can purchase and install one Power Server ID certificate issued to one of the server names and containing the others in the Subject Alternative Name field to secure all these sites. The number of server names contained in the Subject Alternative Name field is limited to 3. If you need to span the PowerServerID certificate across multiple physical servers, just purchase additional licenses.
