Sectigo Personal Authentication Certificates
Sectigo Personal Authentication Certificates or SPAC can be ordered for any valid email address. There are three types of Personal Authentication Certificates:
Note: A Corporate Secure Email Certificates or CSEC is the only email certificate that requires verification of the domain and is only available via an EPKI account
CPAC Basic
Validation requires a challenge response from the customer. There is no need to verify the identity of the applicant with a government issued photo ID or QIIS/QGIS/QTIS document.
Process the Order
- Login to OMS and search for the order
- Open the certificate
- Click the “Resend the invitation email” button
CPAC Pro
Validation for an individual requires a government issued photo ID to verify identity.
Process the Order
- Login to AVS and search for the order
- The identity of the individual is verified using government issued photo ID
- After the identity is verified, login to OMS and search for the order
- Open the certificate
- Click the "Validate PAC Details and Send Invitation Email!!" button. After sending the invitation email, the agent can resend the Invitation email by clicking "Resend Collection Email" button
CPAC Enterprise
Validation includes verifying the identity (company name), physical existence (address) and authentication of the order (callback)
Process the Order
- Login to AVS and search for the order
- The admin contact is validated by requesting a government issued photo ID
- The organization is validated using a QIIS/QGIS/QTIS to verify company name and address
- A callback is required to authenticate the order
- Login to OMS and search for the order
- Open the certificate
- Click the "Validate PAC Details and Send Invitation Email!!" button. After sending the invitation email, the agent can resend the Invitation email by clicking "Resend Collection Email" button
Note: A Face to Face is not required for a sole proprietor/trader

QIIS
Qualified Independent Information Source: A regularly-updated and current, publicly available, database designed for the purpose of accurately providing the information for which it is consulted, and which is generally recognized as a dependable source of such information like D&B
QTIS
Qualified Tax Information Source: A Qualified Governmental Information Source that specifically contains tax information relating to Private Organizations, Business Entities, or Individuals.
QGIS
Qualified Government Information Source: A database maintained by a Government Entity that contain legal business registration
Face to Face letter
A document used to validate a principal individual of a sole proprietorship or sole trader.
