Introducing the RSA, DSA and ECC option from November 2013
Give your visitors speedier connection times and more security for no extra charge. Symantec are introducing Elliptic Curve Cryptography, or ECC, by the end of the year. ECC requires less bandwidth because of its shorter key lengths. It's perfect for mobile and tablet use. It's also twelve times stronger than, RSA cryptography.
256-bit ECC is the same as 3072-bit RSA.
Combine ECC with RSA or DSA, another new cryptography method, for increased layers of encryption. DSA or Digital Signature Algorithm performs equivalently to RSA yet utilizes a different process for signing and encryption. You can also combine RSA and DSA to increase the reach of your ecosystem. DSA is also more up-to-date with government requirements and makes it easier to follow changes in regulations.
